Authorities say a small plane crashed after taking off from the Windom airport on Sunday morning, killing the pilot. There were no passengers on board.
According to the Federal Aviation Administration, the plane was headed to Tennessee, but crashed about six miles north of the Windom Municipal Airport Sunday morning.
The Cottonwood County Sheriff’s Department states law enforcement began searching after a report there was no radio contact with a plane that had departed from the Windom Airport.
The site of the crash was located at 7:43 a.m. Authorities say the pilot was dead at the scene. No further details were immediately available.
