Ursula “Toots” Amberg
Ursula “Toots” Amberg, age 89, of Olivia, MN died Saturday, June 24, 2023 at Garnette Gardens in Redwood Falls. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, June 30, 2023 at 11 a.m. at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Olivia with Rev. Joe Steinbeisser as celebrant. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. on Friday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Aloysius Catholic Church. Arrangements are by Dirks-Blem Funeral Service, Olivia, MN.
Ursula Gretchen Amberg was born May 28, 1934 at Zeitz, Germany to Herbert and Liddy (Tischendorf) Etzold. She grew up in Germany and attended school through the 8th grade. Toots was married to Fredrick Amberg on March 18, 1972 at Incarnation Catholic Church in Minneapolis. She had worked for Lazy Sue Foods, Western Electric, Trojan Seed and Jackpot Junction. Toots was an avid bowler and spent many years on the local bowling league in Olivia. She loved to socialize whether it was for a birthday party or getting together with friends for a cup of coffee. Toots spent quality time with her children and grandchildren and was always known for her wonderful Christmas feasts and many presents that took hours to unwrap. Toots was always put together – from the hair and clothes to the nails and make-up, she always looked nice.
Toots is survived by her husband, Fred Amberg of Olivia; her three daughters: Joni Adams (and the late Mark Adams), Maui, HI, Carrie (and Marv) Zuhlsdorf of Olivia and Angela (and Jared) klein of Willmar; her four grandchildren: Traci, Brent, Tauren and Brianna; her ten great-grandchildren: Tucker, Grayson, Sawyer, Graham, Baylor, Kualii, Kahekili, Aaliyah, Isaiah and Elijah and her sister Margaret of Germany. Toots was preceded in death by her parents, three siblings and son-in-law Mark Adams.
