Tim was born on November 17, 1958 to Irwin and Marie (Rossmann) Hennen. Tim received his education from Morton High School and graduated in 1977. In June of 1980, Tim married Barbara Sands. In their 15 years of marriage, they had 3 children together. Throughout his young life, he worked for several local carpenters. Around 1983 he started his ranching lifestyle by raising Charolais cattle. He was a member of the Morton Fire Department for 22 years. He was a janitor and school bus driver for Morton Elementary School for many years. When Morton school closed in 1994, Tim went back to construction and worked at Schult Homes in Redwood Falls. In August of 2013, Tim was united in marriage to Eva Rudolph.

In his spare time, he was able to pursue his biggest passion, training horses and established Birch Coulee Arena. With his kind yet gruff way of teaching, he has helped several hundred people with their horsemanship. His intuitive horse sense allowed him to connect to horses in a way that few could. Only the brave would follow him on a trail ride through his beloved coulee. His best attributes were his gift of gab and witty sense of humor. Tim began ranch rodeos in 1999 at Birch Coulee Arena and Swingin E Ranch. Since then, they have grown to include traveling to county fairs and other small-town events. Every year it seems that a new venue has been added. His greatest wish was for the sport of ranch rodeo and his passion for horses to continue on to future generations.

He is survived by his wife, Eva Rudolph of Morton; children: Meghann (Shawn) Kodet of Morton, Dustin (Autumn) Hennen of Morton, Amanda (Scott) Gertken of Watkins.
