Timothy Odell Reiten

Timothy Odell Reiten, age 65, of Sacred Heart, died Monday, March 27, 2023, at the Avera Granite Falls Hospital.   Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 31, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Sacred Heart.  The Rev. Michelle Kleene will officiate.  Burial will be at a later date in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be Thursday from 5-7 p.m. at the Dirks-Blem Funeral Home in Renville and will continue one hour prior to the services at the church on Friday.

Timothy Odell Reiten was born on March 7, 1958, in Granite Falls, Minnesota to Odell Orland and Mary Louise (Bagaus) Reiten.  He was baptized and confirmed at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Sacred Heart.  When Tim was a junior in high school he joined the National Guard, he later graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1978.  Tim worked at Airway Lockers in Sacred Heart and then owned and operated a locker plant in Parkers Prairie.  Tim returned to Sacred Heart to near his family and for the last 20 plus years he worked as a surveillance technician at Prairies Edge Casino in Granite Falls.  Tim was a very humble and caring person who would help anyone. He was his grandkids number one fan. He loved everything that had to do with the outdoors including fishing, camping, gardening, and spending time with family and his fur babies. From football to NHL to Classic Rock, Tim had that going at all times.

He is survived by his sons and daughter:  Michael Reiten of Olivia, Nathan (and Felicia) Reiten of Granite Falls, and Elisha (and George) Garcia of Bird Island, 13 grandchildren and one great granddaughter; his two sisters: Deb (and Myrle) Peterson of Belview, and Pam Reiten of Sacred Heart; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother David, and his nephews Xander and Jamie Garcia, III.
