Tanner Lentz, 26

The funeral service for Tanner Lentz, 26, of Echo, will be Saturday, January 6, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church in Echo. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Peace Lutheran Church, with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at the Belview Cemetery in Belview.

Tanner Joseph Lentz was born on February 26, 1997, in Redwood Falls, to Mark and Jessie (Stoufer) Lentz. He grew up in the Echo and Belview area, and graduated as valedictorian from the E.C.H.O. Charter School. After high school, Tanner worked a variety of jobs, including working at the Farmer’s Co-op Oil of Echo, and for Alvan Sander and Sons, Magic Water, and Schult Homes. After meeting Tiana Hay at church league softball, the couple was married on September 5, 2020, at Rock Dell Lutheran Church in Belview. The couple made their home in Echo. Tanner enjoyed the outdoors, especially riding his RZR, hunting, and going to the races. He loved all animals, especially his furbabies Sadie, Kevin, and Dale. Tanner had many friends, and he enjoyed visiting and drinking with them on the deck.

After a hard fought 4 year battle with cancer, Tanner died on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, surrounded by family at his residence in Echo. He is survived by his wife Tiana of Echo; parents Jessie (Stoufer) (and Jerry) Mertens of Belview and Mark (and Patti) Lentz of Echo; step-siblings Jake Mertens, Ashley Mertens (and Bob Huseby), Danielle (and Bryan) Nielsen, Lacey (and Evan) Wintz; step-nieces and nephews Quinton Nielsen, Lucy Wintz, Everett Wintz (his godson), and Theodore Huseby; special cousins Dany and Brittany Stoufer; grandparents Marvin and Judy Lentz; parents-in-law Larry (and Tonia) Hay and Michelle Jarcho; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Larry and Toots Stoufer.
