Susan “Sue” Rosenberg

Susan “Sue” Rosenberg, age 73, of Olivia, MN died on Sunday, September 12, 2021 at Olivia Restorative Therapy and Nursing Home. Mass of Christian burial will be on Monday, September 20, 2021 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Olivia with Father Joe Steinbeisser as celebrant. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with Dirks-Blem Funeral Service of Olivia.

Susan Alice Rosenberg was born on May 2, 1948 to Harry and Estella Mae (Gleason) Hilton on a naval base in Key West, Florida. Sue graduated from Virginia Beach High School in 1966. Sue met Robert Rosenberg while he was stationed in Virginia Beach. They were united in marriage on November 16, 1968 and blessed with two daughters. Their family lived in various places but spent the majority of their time in Olivia and Springfield, MN. Upon Sue and Bob’s retirement they settled in Olivia. Sue had a strong faith and deep love for the Catholic Church; she was very active and dedicated. She not only worked as a secretary for many years, but she also gave her time teaching confirmation and being part of different church groups such as the CCW. Together, Sue and Bob enjoyed bowling and snowmobiling with friends. Because most of her family lived in Virginia Beach, they took many trips from Minnesota to visit over the years. Watching old movies, going to coffee and playing Scrabble with friends were some of her favorite hobbies. Being a grandma brought her much joy. She had an immeasurable love for her grandson who lovingly called her “Grandpa Sue.” Sue was a dedicated caregiver to Bob and worked hard to advocate for him. She will be remembered for her fun-loving personality, contagious laugh, and caring heart.

Sue is survived by her daughters, Renee Rosenberg of Blaine and Taryn (Michael) Steeke of Coon Rapids; her grandson, Wyatt Steeke; her siblings, Sandra (Bobby) Stocks of Norfolk, VA and Randy (Lynn) Hilton of Patterson, MO; brothers-in-law: Al Henjum of MN, Leo Rosenberg of FL, and Dan (Lynn) Rosenberg of AZ; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Sue was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 45 years, Bob; her brothers: Gary and Stephen Hilton; sisters-in-law, LaVonne Henjum and Judy Rosenberg; and brother-in-law, Jerome Rosenberg.
