He was baptized in the Methodist Church and later joined St. Mary’s Catholic Church, where he received the sacraments. In 1967, Steve graduated from Tracy High School. He was drafted to the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Steve then turned the military into his career and served for 33 years. On July 1, 1972, Steve was united in marriage to Kathy St. Aubin at Holy Redeemer in Marshall. Together they made their home near Tracy. They split their time between their home on Lake Shetek and wintered at La Costa Village in Davenport, Florida. Steve worked ten years at the Lyon Co. Sherriff’s Department, was a longtime member of the Tracy American Legion and served on the Tracy Fire Department for 22 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time at his lake cabin.
