Shirley M. Brockway age 77 of Morton passed away on Monday, January 24, 2022 at Centra Care Hospital in St. Cloud after an extended illness.  A private family service will be held.  Interment is in the Beaver Falls Cemetery.  Online condolences may be sent at www.stephensfuneralservice.com. Shirley was born February 24, 1944 in New Ulm, MN to Paul & Dorothy (Bleick) Haus.  She attended country school near Gibbon before graduating from Morton High School in 1962.  On June 8, 1963 Shirley was united in marriage to Jerry Brockway at Zion Lutheran Church in Morton.  She stayed home to raise her family.  After her kids were older, Shirley worked at Zytec in Redwood Falls, and helped her husband at the glass shop.  Later she worked at Jackpot Junction for 15 years before they moved to Spicer.  While there, Shirley enjoyed working at the grocery store in New London.  Later they moved to the Black Hills for several years where Shirley loved 4-wheeling.  In 2015, they moved back to Morton where they have resided since.  Shirley was active in the Morton Senior Citizens.  She loved playing cards, reading, woodworking, taking care of her plants and flowers and spending time with her family.  She also enjoyed sewing and making quilts.  

Shirley is survived by her husband Jerry of 58 years; children: Margaret (Mike) Montgomery of Vesta, Sandra Walker of Morton, Cherry Brockway and special friend Mike of Milbank, SD, and Jerry Brockway Jr. of Hibbing; grandchildren: Joe & Marissa, Natasha & Makayla, Gabriel, Mitchell & Evan and Jerry Brockway III; several great grandchildren; brothers Emery (Betty) Haus & Shorty (Mary Jane) Haus; sister Naomi McColley (special friend Jay); and many other relatives and friends.  She is preceded in death by her parents, granddaughter Heather Montgomery and son-in-law Tom Walker.
