Sharon “Sherry” Fenger

Sharon “Sherry” Fenger age 73, of Springfield, MN passed away on June 5, 2023, surrounded by her family at Sleepy Eye Medical Center.

Visitation will be on Sunday, June 11, 2023 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Sturm Funeral Home, Springfield Chapel and will continue on Monday from 9:30 am until 10:30 am at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Springfield, MN. Service will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church, on Monday, June 12, 2023 at 10:30 am. The clergy will be Pastor Tricia Mattson. Interment will be at the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Springfield, MN.

Sharon ‘Sherry’ Rebecca Churchill was born on July 17, 1949 the daughter of Elmer and Avis (Natterstad) in Tracy, MN. She attended and graduated from Walnut Grove High School. Sherry met and later married Robert Fenger on November 30, 1968 at Revere Lutheran Church. She held various jobs throughout her lifetime including BCBS, daycare mom, Duebers, St. Paul’s Church, Handi Mart and Microtel. Sherry taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, volunteered with the Red Cross and was a boy and girl scout leader throughout the years. She loved sewing for herself and her children, crafting, cooking, camping and visiting with friends. Family was everything to her, especially her children and grandchildren. Sherry was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.

 

Left to treasure her memory are her children – Jason (Kelly) Fenger of Oskais, MN, Chuck (Michelle) Fenger of Wanda, MN, Crissy (Mike) Rogotzke of Springfield, Jen (Brian) Timm of Sanborn, MN, Mike and girlfriend, Kristin Haldeman of Springfield; grandchildren – Bridget Fenger, Amber (Andy) Salonek and Olivia (Josh) Nelson, Allison Fenger (James Golden), Sam Fenger and Carly Fenger, Andy Rogotzke (Macy Simonson), Ashley Rogotzke (Ben Henning), Jacob Rogotzke (Elissa Sattler) and Nickolas Rogotzke, Madisyn (Micheal) Tjepkes, Audrey Timm, Zachary Timm, Joshua Timm and Bobbie Jo Timm and Jackson Hanson; one great-grandson, Hudson Salonek; brother, Tom (Jennie) Churchill; sister-in-law, Diane Churchill and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob; parents, Elmer and Avis; brother, Chuck Churchill; in-laws, Hilman and Dolly Fenger; sisters – in – law, Mary Fenger and Kay Grund; brothers – in – law, Harlen Fenger and Dale Grund; and nephew, Marrett Grund.
