Scott Tauer, age 63, of Sleepy Eye, MN died April 6, 2021, at his home in Sleepy Eye.

Visitation will be on Sunday from 4 to 7pm with a 6:30 pm Prayer Service at the Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye and will continue on Monday from 10 until 11 am at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Sleepy Eye.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Sleepy Eye, on Monday, April 12, 2021 at 11:00 pm. COVID-19 precautions will be followed, including mandatory masks and social distancing.

The clergy will be Father Mark Steffl.

Interment will be at the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Sleepy Eye.

A private luncheon will be held in the church social room following the interment.

Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye.

Scott Alcuin Tauer was born November 21st, 1957 in Sleepy Eye, Minnesota as the middle child of a family of five; son of Alcuin Wenzel Tauer and Arlene Marie (Pelzel) Tauer. In 1977, Scott met the love of his, Cynthia Schildberg while living in Iowa. They wed August 18th, 1979 and moved to Minnesota in 1983. He remained devoted to her after her death in 2014. Scott found true passion in life while working for Mathiowetz Construction Company where he worked for 37 years. He loved fishing, hunting, winter camping, the sunrise, and he cherished every moment spent with his family. Scott was known by his friends and family as a generous and humble man who would give you the shirt off his back. He was a mentor and friend to anyone he met and was always available to lend a helping hand. He will be forever missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing him. He was a friend, a son, a brother, a father, a grandfather, and an expected great grandfather.

He is survived by his children, Dominic Tauer, Misty “Nevada” Rosales (Lupe), Damian Tauer (Steffi), Samantha McLaughlin (Matt), grandchildren, Keira, Maddie, & Ellie, his parents, Alcuin and Arlene Tauer, brothers & sisters Gary (Laurie), Suzanne (Mark), Dan (Kris), & Sandy as well as numerous extended family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Cynthia, and many other loved ones.
