Scott James Hirschman was born on December 16, 1956 to Donald and Evelyne (Golder) Hirschman in Olivia, MN. Scott was baptized and confirmed at Bird Island United Methodist Church. In 1976, he graduated from Bird Island High School. He was married two times, to Pam and Lisa, and through his marriages he was blessed with three children. Scott worked at Hutchinson Technology Inc. for 33 years, during his time with the company he traveled to Thailand twice. Playing guitar and singing was a hobby of his; his brother and he would spend nights in the shop playing together. Scott was a goofy guy that loved a good joke. He and his children shared many laughs over the years trying to see who could get him the most flustered, Melody usually always won. Scott was a big fan of Hostess and Little Debbie cakes. He taught his children what it meant to be a “Bachelor Cook,” one of his specialties was grilled cheese in the microwave. He enjoyed racing cars at the track in Bird Island, riding motorcycle, and going to car shows. He loved spending time with his family and was always there when they needed him. Scott didn’t have the easiest life, but in recent years he was able to grow in his faith and get his life on track thanks to the help of Jerry Seehusen. He will be remembered for his great work ethic and being independent.

Scott is survived by his children: Jason (Kozanna) Hirschman of Lake Lillian, Melody (Jon) Hoppenrath of St. Cloud, and Robert (Kayla) Hirschman of Bird Island; his 11 grandchildren; his brother, Tedd Hirschman of Bird Island; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Scott was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Evelyne, and other relatives.
