Sara Ann Feil was born on August 15, 1939 to Richard and Ruth (Davis) Stiles in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. She was a graduate of Scottsbluff High School in 1958 and continued her education at Chadron State in Chadron, Nebraska. While in college Sally met the love of her life, Roger, one evening as he and his friends were ‘dragging main.’ They were united in marriage on December 21, 1958 at First Christian Church in Scottsbluff and their marriage was blessed with three children. A job offer for Roger brought them to Olivia, Minnesota in 1978. When they moved to Olivia they became part of Cross of Calvary Lutheran Church where Sally was active on the church council as well as various committees and groups. She also volunteered with ‘Meals on Wheels’ in the area. As a family, they loved being together especially in the outdoors while camping, one of their favorite destinations being Big Horn Mountain in Wyoming. She stayed busy tending her large garden and canning her produce to feed her family; passing down the canning skills to her daughter, Margo. Sally enjoyed sewing, knitting, and quilting – completing many projects over the years for not only her family but also at church. Sally’s love of dogs was immense, taking great care of their beloved family dogs throughout the years. She was skilled in the kitchen making many meals and treats; always looking to “perfect” her recipes although her family thought her pecan pies, bread, and potato salad were the best. Her modest personality and simple lifestyle allowed her to focus on the important things in her life including her family and the Lord. She leaves behind a legacy of being a loving wife, mother, grandma, and great-grandma.

Sally is survived by her husband, Roger; her children: Hallie Feil (and Nichelle), Margo Miller (and Todd), and Matt Feil (and Kristi); her grandchildren: Savannah and Logan Miller, and Gabrielle and Gavin Feil; and her great-grandson, Harrison Miller. Sally was preceded in death by her father, Richard Stiles; mother, Ruth Stiles-Flaherty; sister, Karen Holm; and many aunts and uncles.

Blessed Be Her Memory
