Family was most important to Sandy. She called her mother Betty every day, and she loved to bring clothes when she came to visit. Sandy treated her many nieces and nephews as her own children. She also enjoyed playing cards with her aunts and uncles. Sandy was a long-time member of Bloomington Lutheran Church. She also enjoyed traveling, shopping, and visiting estate sales. Sandy had been living in Chanhassen after retirement until moving to Alexandria to be closer to family following a recent illness.

Sandy died on Thursday, September 30, 2021, at Grand Arbor Assisted Living in Alexandria, under the care of Knute Nelson Hospice. She is survived by her mother Betty (Schrupp) Jeseritz of Granite Falls, brothers Delano (JoAnne) of Alexandria, John (Beverly) of Marshall, Randy (Robin) of Pierre, SD, and Harvey of State Center, IA; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her father Franklin Schrupp.
