Russell K. Paulson
Russell “Russ” Paulson age 80, of New Ulm, MN passed away on December 21, 2019, at Good Samaritan Center, Winthrop, MN.
Visitation will be on Friday, December 27, 2019 from 9 to 11 am at the Oakwood United Methodist Church.
Service will be held at the Oakwood United Methodist Church, New Ulm, MN on Friday, December 27, 2019 at 11:00 am.
The clergy will be Pastor Gerhardt Miller.
Interment will be at the Mt. Hope Cemetery, St. James, MN.
Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye.

Russell Kenneth Paulson, son of Rudolph and Viola (Brown) Paulson was born June 26, 1939 in Madelia, MN. Most of his growing up years were spent on a farm near Godahl, MN. He attended District 24 country school and graduated with the class of 1957, Sleepy Eye Public High school. He met Margaret (Peggy) Hanson in St. James while employed by the Land 0′ Lakes Creamery. They were married June 26,1960. Russ moved to New Ulm in February 1960 when he started working for Wayne’s Mobil on North Broadway. Peggy joined him after their wedding. They have continued to live in New Ulm until the present. Other places Russ has worked are Bode Feed Store, Brown County Deputy Sheriff, Budahn’s International Truck Garage, and 20 years of semi driving for several area companies. He retired in 2003 from L. K. & K. Pierson Trucking Lake Crystal, MN. Russ and Peggy spent the next 8 years traveling with an RV, meeting some great people and making a lot of wonderful memories. Russ’s hobbies have been hunting, camping with family and friends, fishing, he liked to play cards and Yahtzee. Russ is a member of Oakwood United Methodist Church in New Ulm. He was active in the Men’s Club and sang in the choir.
Russ is survived by his wife of 59 years, Peggy, two sons: Ken (Kelly) Paulson, Mick (Patty) Paulson, one daughter: Karen (James) Milbrath, six grandchildren: Cassie (Justin Stimpert) Paulson, Mike Paulson, Matt Paulson, Emmy Paulson, Andrea Milbrath and Jordan Milbrath, three great grandsons: Riley, Austin and Colin Stimpert, one sister Janet (Walter) Osborn, one niece Julie Johnson and her children Ryan and Jake. He was preceeded in death by his grandparents, parents, and nephew: Andy Osborn.
