Rosemary was born on September 26, 1923, in Marcus, Iowa to her parents Charles and Elizabeth (Hunt) Okins. She attended school in Iowa and graduated with a solid foundation for life. Rosemary’s journey continued as she married the love of her life, Richard Dean Okins, on August 11, 1947, in Redwood Falls. Together they shared a beautiful life filled with love and dedication. She was a member of St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Redwood Falls.
Throughout her life, Rosemary’s primary role was that of a dedicated housewife. Her proudest accomplishments revolved around raising her three children with unconditional love and unwavering support. Her nurturing nature extended beyond her immediate family; she touched the lives of many with her caring heart.
Rosemary found joy in the simple things in life. She had a passion for crocheting beautiful creations and spending quality time playing cards with loved ones. Her warm and loving personality made every moment spent with her a cherished memory for those around her.
In the hearts of those who knew Rosemary, she will forever be remembered for her kindness, compassion, and affectionate nature. Her legacy lives on through her surviving family: two sons, David Okins of The Villages, FL and Dean (Julie) Okins of Santa Cruz, CA; along with 4 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren who hold her dear in their hearts.
Rosemary was reunited in eternal peace with her parents Charles and Elizabeth, her beloved husband Richard, their daughter Shirley Kaehler, as well as her sister Dorothy and brother-in-law Donald Palmer who preceded her in death.
In honoring Rosemary Okins’ life and legacy, let us remember the joy she brought to others and the love she shared unconditionally with all who had the privilege to know her.
