At the age of 17, Bob enlisted in the U.S. Navy. After basic training, he was assigned to the Seabees and was stationed on Guam as an Electrician’s Mate 3C. Once he returned home, Bob worked at various jobs before working with his father and brother Eugene doing electrical work. Bob married Helen Wojahn on August 18, 1951 in New Richland and they purchased their home in Morgan. Bob was a life member of Morgan’s VFW Post 5771 and the DAV. He enjoyed tinkering in his shop and keeping things in good running order. He enjoyed gardening and fishing trips to Canada. Bob and Helen wintered for many years in Apache Junction, AZ where he enjoyed visiting and playing pool. While there they loved attending the annual Morgan Picnic where they reminisced about the “good old days” in Morgan. Bob was also a lifetime member of Zion Lutheran Church in Morgan.
