Robert “Bob” Peter Wolf

Robert “Bob” Peter Wolf, age 73, of Olivia, died Monday, February 13, 2023, at the RenVilla Nursing Home in Renville.  Funeral services will be Friday, February 17, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the Dirks-Blem Funeral Home in Renville.   The Rev. Durene Cornell will officiate.  Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Renville.  Visitation will be on Thursday from 5-7 p.m. and one hour prior to the services all at the funeral home in Renville.

Robert “Bob” Peter Wolf was born on January 14, 1950, in Granite Falls, Minnesota to Peter Walter and Katherine (Woltjer) Wolf.  He grew up in Renville and attended school here.  Bob was baptized and confirmed at the United Methodist Church in Renville.  Bob served his country in the United States Army from 1969 until 1971, during which time he was stationed in Vietnam.  Following the service, he returned to Minnesota and worked construction for Berghuis Construction in Clara City.  He later worked in construction for Lloyd Kortgard for several years.  For the last 13 of his working years, Bob worked for Jennie-O Turkey Stores, retiring in 2005.  Bob was united in marriage to Janice Wallert in 1978, at the United Methodist Church in Renville.  Bob loved the outdoors and enjoyed spending time hunting, fishing, trapping, and camping.  Most of all he loved spending time with his grandsons.

He is survived by his wife Janice, his two daughters:  Corina (and Shane) Wohlman of Renville, and Kim Wolf of Bird Island; his three grandsons: Spencer, Corbin, and Camden; his sister Sharon (and Mick) Berghuis of Clara City, many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Michael, sister Peg Negen, and his nephew Jeff Negen.
