Richard Joseph Morris was born on August 6, 1941, in Granite Falls, Minnesota to Roy and Marion (Holstein) Morris.  He grew up in Renville and lived on a farm with his parents until they moved to town, once in town he would often be seen riding his three wheeled bike around town.  In 1985, he moved to Bird Island and lived in a group home for a few years. He later moved to a group home in Olivia and he worked at ACTS – which he loved doing.  He also loved going out to eat with his friends from his home, going shopping, watching Wheel of Fortune, and going to Jesus Cares at Zion Lutheran Church in Olivia.  Richard loved competing in the Special Olympics. But, he found his most joy in returning to the family farm to help with the chores and baling hay.   He always had a huge smile on his face when he saw his family.

Richard is survived by his brothers and their spouses: Ron (and Judy) Morris of Renville, Russell (and Sharon) Morris of Sioux Falls, SD; his nephews and nieces: Jeff (and Denise) Morris and family of Raymond, Greg (and Angie) Morris and family of Renville, Matthew (and Nicole) Morris and family of Sacred Heart, Michael Morris and family of Renville, Michelle Jaenisch and family of Willmar, Steve (and Erin) Morris and family of Eagan, and Cindy (and Chris) Vaske and family of Peru, IL; and other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his twin sister Mary.
