Richard J. Wildt, age 84, of New Ulm, died Saturday, December 28, at the Divine Providence Community Home in Sleepy Eye.

In accordance with Richard’s wishes, a private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in New Ulm.  Burial will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery in Morgan.

Richard is survived by his wife, Agnes; daughters, Eileen (Bill) Rothmeier and Shelly (Jim) Matson; sons, Michael (Mari) and Patrick (Colleen) Wildt; eight grandchildren; sisters, Mariann Wildt and Diane Kirchmann; brother, Dennis (Sue) Wildt; and nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Richard Joseph Wildt was born on December 14, 1935 in Eden Township on the family farm to Henry & Loretta (Spangler) Wildt.  Richard graduated from Morgan High School in 1953. He then served in the U.S. Army from 1955-1957.  Richard was united in marriage to Agnes Sellner on November 27, 1962 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in New Ulm.  They raised their children on the family farm in Morgan Township.

Memorials are preferred to Parkinson’s Research, Friends of San Lucas, or the donor’s choice.
