Patricia “Patty” Vollmer, age 69 of Redwood Falls, passed away July 7, 2021 with her husband by her side at Park Nicollet Methodist Hospital transcending the clouds from her home on Earth to be with her heavenly Father and loved ones who went before her. Memorial Service will be held at 11 am on Friday, July 16, 2021, at the First United Methodist Church in Redwood Falls, Minnesota. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 16, 2021, from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m., at the church.

Patricia “Patty” Ella Vollmer, daughter of Harold and Pearl (Reck) Burgemeister, was born August 12, 1951 in Redwood Falls, MN.  Patty was baptized May 7th, 1964 at the Redwood Falls Evangelical United Brethren Church.  She graduated from the Redwood Falls High School in 1969.  Prior to graduation, Patty began working at the Redwood County Auditor Office and continued her employment with the county, later becoming Office Manager for the Redwood County Environmental Office. She retired December 31, 2008.

On October 21, 1989 Patty married Michael Vollmer and they made their home in Redwood Falls.  She was a member of First United Methodist Church.

The saddest day in Patricia’s life occurred on September 25, 1991 when she gave birth to a full term, unblemished, stillborn baby boy.  After this tragic loss, her nephews and later their children became an even more integral part of her life.  She cared for a family’s children who soon called her Grandma Patty and still call her that in adult life.  Any adult or child that visited her home was always welcomed by a well stocked candy dish and treat cabinet.

Family and friends were a priority in her life and always put others before her. Patty was always willing to help others who were not as fortunate as her.

When Patty entered a room, her smile radiated joy to everyone. She kept a spotless, well organized home. There was always a list somewhere to be found.  She played detective many times finding things for her husband. Later in life they got a dog and she referred to the dog hair as “Poppy is spreading her love around the house”.

Patty enjoyed shopping, be it a special gift for someone or making her home more beautiful. She was a perfectionist and any item purchased, big or small, had to be perfect.  Shopping took her to many venues to find that special gift or item to complement the décor of her home.  Her home transitioned through the seasons culminating with Christmas, her favorite holiday, when it was transformed into a twinkling, glittery Christmas Wonderland.  To make room for the new, meant she had annual garage sales which earned her the title of Queen of Garage Sales. She enjoyed the sales because it gave her the opportunity to renew friendships.

She was preceded in death by parents Harold and Pearl Burgemeister, son Patrick Michael, brother Rodney and sister Cleo.  She is survived by her husband Michael, beloved havanese fur baby Poppy, sister Linda (Lee) Landsberger, sister-in-law Charlotte Burgemeister, special nephews Eric (Lynn) Burgemeister, Brian Burgemeister, and Dustin (Calli) Burgemeister along with their respective children.

Memorials are preferred to the First United Methodist Church or the American Heart Association.

Blessed Be Her Memory
