Minnie “Min” Ruth (Fluegge) Raddatz, 93, passed away peacefully the morning of Thursday, October 28, 2021, in Ellendale, MN.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 13, 2021, at St. John Lutheran Church, 119 W Broadway, Redwood Falls, MN. Burial will follow at Redwood Falls Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the memorial service at St. John Lutheran Church. The service will also be livestreamed at https://www.youtube.com/user/stjohnrwf.

The daughter of Henry L and Minna Elisabeth (Ulrich) Fluegge, Minnie was born on April 29, 1928, in Bernadotte Township, Nicollet County, Minnesota. She was baptized in the Christian faith at Zion Lutheran Church, Courtland, MN in May 1928, and confirmed on May 9th, 1943 at Bernadotte Evangelical Lutheran Church. She graduated from New Ulm High School in 1946.

She was united in marriage to Donald Raddatz of Redwood Falls, Minnesota, on November 14, 1948, at St. Paul’s Lutheran in New Ulm and they lived in Redwood Falls. Don and Min were blessed with four children: Mark, Mary, Jayne, and Joyce Melanie.

After graduation, she worked at Northwestern Bell Telephone Co. as a phone operator and participated in the strike which led to the eventual end of the National Federation of Telephone Workers Union. As entrepreneurs, Don and Min owned and operated several businesses together, including a concrete products manufacturing and Ready-Mix business in Trimont, Minnesota, and the New Ulm Motel. After selling those businesses and then living in Clearwater, Florida, for five years, they moved to the Minneapolis metro area, where she worked for BI Worldwide until her retirement.

She loved her family and treasured her nieces and nephews. She loved her Savior and was active in her church. She cherished fond memories of wonderful travels, horses, and Minnesota Twins baseball. She was also very active in conservative politics for many years.

Minnie is survived by son, Mark (Dawn) Raddatz, Harrisburg, SD; and three daughters, Mary Jones, Davenport, IA; Jayne (Terry) Ringham, Lake Mills, IA; Joyce Melanie (Charles) Christianson, Golden Valley, MN; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Delores Fluegge, Braham, MN and Marie Steinberg, New Ulm, MN; many nieces and nephews, and extended family members.

Min is preceded in death by her loving husband, Don, in 2019, her parents, and her brothers and sister – Arnold, Henry, Ludwig, Norman, and Verna.
