Marie was born on November 1st, 1961 in Mankato, MN to parents George and Ellie Eckert (Gust).Marie graduated from Mankato East high school in 1980 and earned a degree in Business from Mankato State University in 1984. She enjoyed a career in Personnel at ITT, (Minneapolis) Jostens, (Owatonna) and Taylor Corporation (Mankato). During those young adult years, she enjoyed time at softball parks and fishing ponds, hikes outdoors with her dogs, Ruby and Walleye as well as fun travels and time with family and friends. She provided love and support to her family, each one of them, when they needed it most during those years. Slowing the professional pace, while living in Mankato, she met husband Jerry Wunsch. They married on July 5th 2003 at St. John’s church in Mankato, MN. They live in the country in Sleepy Eye, MN. She enjoyed her home, gardening, the outdoors and hosting gatherings for summer tractor parades. Her most passionate love was for her pets. Her dogs Emma, Max and Faith were like her children. And because neither she nor Jerry could turn away a single stray cat, she cared for a whole family of cats over the years. Marie enjoyed opportunities to be with her stepchildren and especially her step grandchildren, whom she loved to have out to the house. Marie also had a particularly giant place her heart for her nieces and nephews. She was their biggest fan. One of Marie’s favorite Sunday pastimes was watching her favorite football teams. Marie had a kind heart and was a loving Christian. She had a special desire to brighten the day of each person she met and so, be remembered by many. She will be missed.

She was preceded in death by her father, George C Eckert, niece Sarah Beiswanger and nephew Michael Beiswanger. She is survived by her husband, Jerry Wunsch, mother, Ellie Eckert, and siblings, Diane (John) Beiswanger, Dan (Annette) Eckert and Michelle (Jamie) Langer. And many nieces and nephews.
