LuElla G. Bruns, age 100 of Renville, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 31, 2021, at the RenVilla Nursing Home in Renville.  Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, January 7, 2022, at Ebenezer Presbyterian Church, rural Renville with Rev. Anna Williamson officiating. A livestream of LuElla’s funeral may be seen on Ebenezer Presbyterian Church’s Facebook page.  Interment will be in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11a.m. Friday at the church.  In Lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church.  Arrangements are with Dirks-Blem Funeral Service, Renville, Minnesota.

LuElla Grace (Sietsema) Bruns was born September 2, 1921 in Renville County to Dow and Minnie (Hinderks) Sietsema. She attended various country schools and graduated from Clara City HS in 1939. LuElla was united in marriage to John Bruns on May 17, 1944 and together they farmed the “Sietsema Home Place” until retiring in 1981. LuElla was a lifelong member of the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church. She was very active in her church serving as a Sunday School teacher for 35 years, Bible School coordinator and teacher, a member of the Presbyterian Women organization, Friendship Circle, and Quilting group.  LuElla was a charter member of the Renville VFW auxiliary and volunteered at the Renville County Bloodmobile, Renville County Hospice, and Meadows on Main where she lived for 23+ years.

Survivors include daughters and son, Marlene Harguth of Clara City, Maxine Dahl of Richfield, Marcia (Glenn) Wills of Northfield, Merlin (Julie) Bruns of Sartell; eight grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.  LuElla was preceded in death by her husband John in 1982; sons-in law Walter Harguth and Robert Dahl; sister and brothers Lily Mae Kleene, Herman Sietsema, DeLos Sietsema.
