Kent Anderson age 63, of Springfield, MN died on July 20, 2021, at Sleepy Eye Medical Center.

Visitation will be on Saturday, July 24, 2021 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at the Springfield Area Community Center.

Service will be held at the Springfield Area Community Center on Saturday at 11:00 am.

The clergy will be Chaplain Noel Wetter.

Kent Kerwin Anderson was born and raised in Comfrey, MN. He was the oldest of 8 children born to Kelvin and Gwen Anderson. Kent was baptized and confirmed at Faith Lutheran Church in Comfrey. He graduated from Windom Area High School in 1976. Kent worked for Scheppman Construction, Feeken’s Gate Company, Cargill, and Harvestland, retiring in 2015. Over the years Kent enjoyed doing snow removal and lawn care throughout the community of Comfrey. Kent was an overall lover of the beautiful outdoors and all it had to offer. He was a Vikings fan, enjoyed watching WWF Wrestling, and spent many Sundays’ yelling at the television. Kent loved animals of all kinds and spent countless hours helping others with their livestock. Kent was truly a “farmer” at heart. He will always be remembered as a jokester with a heart of gold. Kent had an amazing bond and love for all his nieces and nephews and will always be remembered as the favorite uncle.

He is survived by his mother – Deloris Gwen Anderson of Springfield; siblings – Kemo Anderson and fiancée Denise Ballman of Springfield, Tim (Monica) Anderson of Comfrey, Kayla (Terry) Siegler of Spirit Lake, IA, Gina (Rod) Hammerschmidt of Springfield, Darcy Collins of Fertile, IA, and Tess Johnson of rural Madelia; 34 nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father – Kelvin Anderson; brother – Travis Anderson; grandparents – Elmer and Mae Anderson and Lester and Louise Harris; brother-in-law – Timothy Collins; Kent’s sister’s fiancé – Keith Moldan; and a niece – Catherine Hammerschmidt.
