June Shirley (Enebo) Haug died peacefully with family by her side on Saturday, June 11, 2022.

June was born on July 18, 1927 in Hanska, MN to Elmer and Alice (Norsby) Enebo. She was raised on the family farm. June graduated from Sleepy Eye High School and from Teachers Training School in New Ulm. She taught in rural schools in Brown County for several years. On August 4, 1947 June married Charles Haug at Lake Hanska Lutheran Church. The couple made their home in Sleepy Eye and raised a family of 5 children. June was recently a resident at St. John’s Circle of Care in Springfield where she received an abundance of loving and compassionate care.

June was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Sleepy Eye for over 70 years where she taught Sunday School, Bible School, was a member of the church choir and led Bible Study groups for many years. In 2019, June celebrated 70 years of service to her community as a member of the Sleepy Eye Woman’s Club. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for over 50 years and a member of the ELCA Women of the Church. June was also a vocal soloist and sang at many events.

June was a beautiful woman with sincere faith. She blessed many lives with her selfless devotion. She was a loving wife and her great joy was being a mother and grandmother, as well as a good friend to many. June enjoyed dancing, reading, gardening and most of all the pleasure of being with family and friends. Among her favorite things to do was spending time with family at their lake cabin on Lake Koronis. June had a wonderful sense of humor and was a joy and blessing to be with. She radiated as a woman of grace.

June is survived by her 5 children; Cathy Sletten of Minnetonka, Cindy Seifert of Mankato, Julie (Brad) Sprenger of Comfrey, Doug (Sue) Haug of Houston, TX, Mark (Kathy) Haug of Eagan, 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Charles, parents Elmer and Alice Enebo, son-in-law David Sletten, sisters Sadie Brust and Elaine Trimnell, sister-in-law Martha Mitchell, and brother-in-laws James Brust and Marlin Trimnell.

As a family, we are abundantly blessed to have had so many precious years of June’s grace, patience, joy for life, generosity, gratitude and overflowing love for us.
