Jonathan Harry Hamre was born December 29, 1982 to Paul and Carla (Harried) Hamre at Granite Falls, MN. He enjoyed a childhood in Sacred Heart playing sports, seeking out butterflies and riding bike with Sacred Heart buddies and his “brothers” Ryan & Ross.  He attended Sacred Heart Elementary, where his favorite subject by far was recess. He then attended RCW High School where he was active in football, basketball, baseball, track, Target Team, band, choir, male chorus and jazz band.  He graduated in 2001. Following graduation, he attended Ridgewater College where he played basketball for two years.  He was a volunteer fireman for the Winthrop Fire Department.  He had opportunities throughout his adult life to work with three of his loves – agriculture, coaching basketball, and sales.

In 2008, he married Ashley Meyer and to this union, a daughter Grace Linn was born in 2009.  In 2012, he married Tricia Uecker and to this union, a daughter Megan Grace was born in 2012.  He adopted a son, Layton Uecker-Hamre, in 2014. He took great pride in being able to purchase his Grandpa Harry’s farm home and moved back to Sacred Heart.  On July 7, 2018, Jon married his companion and love, Sherri Olson.  Together they made their house a home and shared that home with his stepdaughter, Payten Soma. Jon spent every day with Sherri – they were a pair! He enjoyed traveling, working, gardening, going to the “middle farm”, spending time fishing, boating and potlucks with their association at their lake place, completing puzzles and watching all sporting events. Most importantly they loved hosting their large, blended family and friends at their farm.

In August of 2023, Jon and Sherri took his parents, daughter, Grace, and nieces, Ava & Ivy to Norway and France.  It was a dream of his to do this with his dad. He will be remembered for his quick wit, generous heart, ability to form nicknames, competitive nature, and deep love for Sherri and his girls.
