Jeffrey Hass

Jeffrey Hass, age 69, of Bird Island, MN passed away on Sunday, May 7, 2023 at the St. Cloud Hospital. A gathering of family and friends will be on Monday, May 15, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Dirks-Blem Funeral Home in Olivia with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. with Pastor Matt Hausken officiating.
Jeffrey Duane Hass was born on June 1, 1953 to Duane and Betty (Ferris) Hass in Wadena, MN. He graduated from Frazee High School in 1971; participating and going to the state tournament in both track and wrestling. After graduation he lived in Clara City and Lake Lillian before settling in Bird Island. He worked for over 30 years at Bob’s, now Island Market, in Bird Island as a meat processor in the deli department. In his younger years he enjoyed being active while playing tennis, and liked watching it on TV along with the Minnesota Vikings. His inner child came out when he was able to play with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, which he was very proud of. He took pride in his basic home repair skills and loved helping his family. When he stopped by for a visit and saw that something needed fixing or the lawn needed to be mowed, he took it upon himself to do it before having to be asked. Jeffrey will be remembered for his quiet nature and strong sense of independence that allowed him to live a life he loved.
Jeffrey is survived by his son, Joshua Hass of Willmar; his grandchildren: Mackenzie Hass (and Ethan Wilkins) of Willmar, Chelsey Hass (and Jason Ziemer) of Willmar, and Jacob Hass of Willmar; his great-grandchildren: Gabriel Hassert, Ronin & Myles Wilkins, Bostyn and Beckham Sletta; his siblings: Lynda (and Donald) Hudson of Fargo, ND, Terry (and Carla) Hass of Maynard, MN, and Craig (and Alanna) Hass of Spicer. Jeffrey was preceded in death by his parents, Duane and Betty.
Blessed Be His Memory
