Janet Marie Feldman, age 68, of Sacred Heart, gained her Angel wings on Monday, February 7, 2022, at the RenVilla Nursing Home.  Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 14, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Sacred Heart.  The Vicar Gwen Arneson will officiate.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church in Sacred Heart.  Arrangements are with Dirks-Blem Funeral Service, Renville, MN.

Janet Marie Feldman was born on March 31, 1953, in Montevideo, MN to Glen and Ardis (Hegna) Kjersten.  She was the second of three children born to this union.  She was baptized and confirmed at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Sacred Heart.  Jan graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1971.  Jan was married in 1971, and was blessed with three children, Ricky, Chad, and Laura.  While raising her children, she earned her bachelor’s degree in education from Huron University.  Upon graduation, she worked at the recruiting office at the university.  From there she worked for the Girl Scouts traveling throughout much of East River, South Dakota.  In March of 2018, she retired from the Girl Scouts and moved back to Sacred Heart.   Jan adored her grandchildren and would visit them as much as she could. She also enjoyed reading, traveling, and visiting with people. Jan loved to visit. She had made many friends over the years in different places and always kept in touch with them.

Grateful to have shared her life are her two sons: Ricky Feldman of Renville, and Chad Feldman of Oral, SD; her grandchildren: Halie and Samantha Feldman of Ipswich, SD, Payne Feldman of Cavour, SD, and Cody Feldman of Renville; her brother Terry (and Mary) Kjersten of Sacred Heart, her sister-in-law Barb Kjersten of Granite Falls, and many nieces, nephews, and family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Laura Feldman, her brother Ardell Kjersten, and her parents Glen and Ardis Kjersten. We will always cherish our memories of Jan as she was a very special and kind lady.
