Iverne Lois Enestvedt was born on January 19, 1931, in Ericson Township, Renville County, to Selmer and Hannah Jordet.  As a child, Verne lived on the family farm northeast of Sacred Heart.  She liked to remember the fun, happy times with everyone together.  Verne graduated from Sacred Heart High School and worked at Farmers and Merchants State Bank in Sacred Heart.  On April 15, 1951, she married the love of her life, Bert Enestvedt.  They had four daughters: Nancy, Karyn, Mary, and Jean.  Family was always most valued in Verne’s heart. Verne’s faith and devotion to the Lord, and Opdal Lutheran Church was a constant source of joy in her life. As an active part of Enestvedt Bros. Seed Corn Company, Verne worked as the company’s bookkeeper, detasseling director, and cook.  Verne loved collecting antiques, photography, and recording family history.  She was an active member of the Renville County Geological Society.  She was one of the originators of the Sacred Heart Area Historical Society.  Verne loved spending time with family and friends.  She was a very compassionate person and known to be “only a phone call away” if you needed her.  Always a thoughtful neighbor, and always made those with her feel special.

Verne is survived by her daughters: Nancy Solie of Lillian, AL, Karyn (Steve) Enestvedt-Sportel of Carlos, MN, Mary (Lee) Wierschem of Willmar, and Jean (Bill) Voelz of Danube, her grandchildren: Jennifer, Scott, Jeni, Cass, Chelsey, Erin, Beverly, and Michael, her great grandchildren: Dekker, Vincent, Samantha, Dylan, Blake, Tenley, Easton, McKenna, Breckan, Raiden, Lydia, and Hunter; her great-great granddaughter Opie; and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bert, her son-in-law Walter, her siblings: Mildred Elliot, Delores Holien, Stanley Jordet, and David Jordet; and her two grandsons.

Blessed Be Her Memory
