Howard Petsinger
It is with heavy hearts we announce that Howard “Howie” Michael Petsinger, age 74, passed away unexpectedly on May 16, 2024 at home in Eagan, Minnesota. He was a beloved husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend.
Howie was born October 12, 1949 in Springfield, Minnesota to Harold (Harry) and Marcella (Sally) Petsinger. He was baptized and received Sacraments of Holy Communion and Confirmation in the Catholic Church. He attended DeLaSalle High School in Minneapolis, followed by some college education at the University of St. Thomas. He served in the United States Air Force as a Freight Traffic Specialist for 4 years. He married Barbara Jo Poucher on April 25, 1970 in St. Paul. He was stationed in Biloxi, Mississippi and Victorville, California, then Germany for 2 years, where the newlyweds lived in Kaiserslautern. After retiring from the Air Force, he worked at Eaton Corporation in Eden Prairie for 33 years as a Quality Control Inspector in manufacturing. He then worked for a short time at Jonaco Machine in Chaska. Howie was a faithful parishioner of St. John Neumann Church in Eagan for 37 years. Howie & Barb spent many weekends camping with great friends. Many winters were spent in Fort Myers, Florida where numerous friends were made, along with a really dark tan. He enjoyed golfing, biking, watching sports, eating pretzels, Love Boat, ice cream, and Tootsie Pops. Anything that had to do with his grandchildren was his favorite; He spent countless hours watching their baseball, soccer, basketball, and football games, as well as dance shows, choir, and band concerts.
Howie is preceded in death by his parents, Harry & Sally Petsinger, in-laws, Al &; Liz Poucher, sister-in-law, Leslie Poucher, and infant niece, Erin Poucher.
Howie loved his family and is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Barb; 4 children and 10 grandchildren, Jason (Stephanie) Petsinger (grandkids Conner, Logan, & Ethan), Jennifer (Seth) Ryan (grandkids Abigail, Ashley, & Carson), Joel (Laura) Petsinger (grandkids Eleanor & Jameson), and Jill (Tyler) Moyna (grandkids Raylan & Mac); sister Nancy (Ron) Plaetz, brother Steve (Dawn) Petsinger, and many loving family members.
Funeral Mass is at 10:00 am on June 6, 2024 at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 4030 Pilot Knob Road in Eagan, Minnesota. Visitation is one hour prior starting at 9:00 am.
