Gregory Grund
Gregory Grund, age 56, formerly of Olivia, died Monday, February 3, at his home in Wooster, Ohio. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 14th at Dirks-Blem Funeral Home in Olivia with visitation one hour prior to the service. Following the service there will be a private family burial at the Olivia Cemetery.
Greg was born on June 29, 1963, the son of Earl and Helen (Emerson) Grund. He was a graduate of Olivia High School and the welding program at Ridgewater College in Willmar. His career as a welder, specializing in stainless steel welding, took him to many places across the US, the last being Wooster, Ohio.
Greg is survived by his son, Brandon of Eagan, and his special friend, Kathy Bates of Wooster, OH. Greg will be deeply missed by his siblings: Gloria Schemel, Pat and Jim Johnson, Peg and Bob Gilchrist, Gary and Penny Grund, Deb and Vance Meyer, Tom and Angie Grund, Mike and Jennifer Grund, and Jeff Grund and Nicole Monnens; along with his many nieces, nephews and friends. Greg was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and brother-in-law, Wayne Schemel.
