Gloria Mattson, age 92, of Danube, MN died Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at RenVilla Nursing Home in Renville. Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 7, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Matthew’s Church in Danube with Pastor Michael Kuschel officiating. Burial will be in St. Matthew’s Cemetery South of Danube. Visitation will be Monday, July 6, at Dirks-Blem Funeral Home in Olivia from 5-7 p.m. with a prayer service at 6:45 p.m. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church. Face Masks are required.

Gloria Helen Mattson was born on October 18, 1927 in Carthage, SD to Fredrick H. and Bertha J. (Riel) Seehusen. She and her family moved to a farm north of Danube in 1937. Gloria married Melvin “Dutch” Mattson on July 2, 1946 in Danube. She worked at Tiny’s Café, Reep Hardware, and State Bank in Danube (Minnwest Bank) until her retirement. Gloria and Dutch liked to follow the local high school sports teams. Gloria was a faithful member of St. Matthew’s Church. She enjoyed time spent with her birthday club for many years. Gloria will be remembered for baking bread and cinnamon rolls every week.

Gloria is survived by her two sons, Richard Mattson of Nampa, ID and Darrell (and Mary Jo) Mattson of Danube; two grandchildren, Paul Mattson of Danube and Karen (and Steven) Hatch of Nampa, ID; six great-grandchildren: Colby, Brady, Connor, Hanna, Liliana and Cole; two sisters, Ardene Langfield of Dallas, TX and Dorothy Snedeker of Carthage, SD; and one sister-in-law, Annalisa Seehusen of San Antonio, TX; and many nieces and nephews. Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, Fredrick H. and Bertha J. Seehusen; her husband, Dutch; her brothers: Earl, Donald, Roy, and Clarence; and sister, Evelyn Wolff.
