Gladys L. Zarn, age 93, of Sleepy Eye, died on December 20, at Divine Providence Community Home in Sleepy Eye.

Visitation will be on Saturday, January 4, from 10:00 am to 11:15 am at the Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye.

Memorial Service will be held at the Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye, on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at 11:15 am.

The clergy will be Msgr. John Richter.

Interment will be at the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Sleepy Eye.

Reception to follow the burial at the Railway Bar & Grill.

Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye.

Gladys Lena Zuhlsdorf was born on November 24, 1926 in Sleepy Eye, Prairieville Township, MN to William & Frances (Reibel) Zuhlsdorf. She attended country school until 3rd grade and then graduated from St. Mary’s High School. She worked at various jobs until 1959 when she went to work for BF Goodrich. Gladys stayed there through the company’s many name changes and retired in 1990. She married William Zarn. The couple resided in Sleepy Eye. William passed away in 1962. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Ladies Guild. Her hobbies included gardening, outside work, fishing and traveling.
She is survived by her children, Harold (Cindy) Zarn of Richfield, MN, Rose Martinka of Sleepy Eye, Joleen (Gordon) Pankratz of Garden City, MN, 7 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren, brother, Albert (Pauline) Zuhlsdorf of Sleepy Eye. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, William, brothers, Leonard, Jerome, Donald, Bernard, Richard, sisters, Evelyn Eckstein, Delores Eckstein, Eleanor Strong, Angeline Mishler, Bernice “Toby” Marsh, Catherine Meyer and son-in-law, Richard Martinka.
