George was baptized and confirmed at Ebenezer Presbyterian Church, where he was a life-long member and served on many committees. He attended Sacred Heart School until he was needed to help his dad on the farm. As an adult he completed his GED which was very important to him. George was drafted into the Army where he served from 1953-1955. He received basic training at Ft Leonard Wood, Missouri. Once completed, he was assigned to serve in the Korean Conflict. He was honorably discharged in 1955. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion. On November 30, 1956, he married Joy Marilyn Toupal, the love of his life. George was employed at the Farmers Coop Oil for 20 years and for the City of Renville for 20 years. He retired in 1997.
