Geoffery “Gorf” Scott Thiel, age 60 of Redwood Falls, passed away Friday, December 31, 2021 at Mayo Clinic Hospital, St. Mary’s Campus in Rochester. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at Northwood Church in Redwood Falls. Visitation will be held 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at the Redwood Valley Funeral Home, and will continue for one hour prior to the service at church on Wednesday. Burial is in the Redwood Falls Cemetery. Geoffery “Gorf” Scott Thiel was born October 13, 1961 to Erwin and Joice Thiel in Redwood Falls, MN. He graduated from Redwood Falls High School in 1980 and then attended VoTech in Granite Falls for Auto Body. Geoff was united in marriage to Karla Christianson on September 19, 1981. Together they made their home in Redwood Falls. They were blessed with two children, Stephanie and Justin. Geoff owned and operated Thiels Auto Body for over 20 years. He enjoyed hunting with his dogs, working on vehicles, and talking cars. Geoff enjoyed time spent with his family. His love for his granddaughters was immense and surreal. The time he spent creating shenanigans with them could never be changed or forgotten.

Geoff is survived by his wife of 40 years, Karla; daughter Stephanie (Chase) Groskreutz and their daughters Addy and Kate; son Justin (Amber) Thiel and their daughter Brinlee. He is also survived by his siblings: Butch, Dave, Rick, Gary, Sandra, Coralee, Eileen, Julie, and Pamela; and many nieces; nephews; and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Erwin and Joice Thiel. Blessed be his memory – he was loved!
