Gene R. Larson, age 82 of Westbrook, passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2022. Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, June 6, 2022 at the Westbrook Community Center. Gene R. Larson was born March 16, 1940 in Westbrook Township, Minnesota to Reuben and Vera (Nelsen) Larson. He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church. He attended school at District 68 for 8 years, then attended Westbrook High School.  Gene later received his GED in 1968. On June 23, 1962, Gene was united in marriage to Ramona Kuehl at St. Ann’s in Slayton. Gene was a Past President of the museum board, served on the cemetery board, and the Senior Center board. He was a member of the Soybean Growers Association, Minnesota Corn Processors, and the snowmobile club. He loved hunting, fishing, birdwatching and riding motorcycle. Being at the cabin, boating, and spending his mornings at the VFW were his mental therapy.

Gene is survived by his wife, Ramona; daughters: Tracy (John) Harrell of Coon Rapids and Ruth Larson of Syracuse, NY; grandchildren: Grant and Garrett Harrell; siblings: Connie (Don) Meier of Westbrook, Steve (Mary) Larson of Mankato, and Wallace Lewis of Sparta, WI, and many other relatives and friends.  He is preceded in death by his parents, and a sister Ellen.
