Everett moved to the Bird Island/Olivia area in 1980 after the death of his parents. Despite his disabilities he wasn’t afraid to take part in activities with family, friends, and his church family. Everett worked at ACTS until the time of his death. He belonged to Jesus Cares and enjoyed taking part in their Christmas program.
