Evelyn Mae Tauber was born on January 25, 1938 to George and Elizabeth (Schroeder) Klinghagen in Willmar, MN. She graduated from Clara City High School in 1956, mastering the art of accordion. Evie was united in marriage to Richard Tauber on August 7, 1959 at the Bethany Reform Church in Clara City and they were blessed with three children. She worked as a nurse’s aide as well as a clerk in the business office at the Renville County Hospital, retiring after 30 years. Evie decided that retirement wasn’t really for her, so she delivered flowers for over 20 years with Olivia Floral; her favorite part of the job being the happiness that she brought to those receiving flowers. Richard and Evie made many memories being outdoors by the lake and fishing as well as the quality time spent with their grandchildren especially while on vacation. Bowling, gardening, and watching birds were her favorite pastimes. They always had a big garden that they canned the produce from; teaching their children and grandchildren the importance of providing for their family and the life skills it took to do that. She made many ‘wish lists’ looking through the Gurney’s seed catalog as she loved the beauty that came from growing vegetables and flowers from seeds. Evie was a great cook; keeping her famous stuffing recipe a secret from even her closest family members. She had a passion for quilting and sewing; making many quilts plus mending torn clothing. Evie was a dedicated member of the Faith United Methodist Church serving the church through committees and events. She volunteered in her community with Relay for Life, now Walk in the Park. She made many friends over the years and always enjoyed time visiting. Recently residing at Traditions in Olivia provided her with close friends that became like family to her. Evie’s calm presence, strong faith, and kind soul will be missed by many.

Evie is survived by her children: Brenda (and Jeff) Kubesh of Jordan, Jeff (and Corinne) Tauber of Olivia, and Lori Schmidt (and Brandon Hickman) of Becker; her grandchildren: Seth (and Missy) Visser and their son, William Marti, Shalie Visser (and Daniel Watterworth), Aaron (and Kelly) Tauber and their daughters Amelia and Charlotte, Andrea Tauber, Joseph Wesenberg (and Kelly Hemmesch) and their son Jalen Wesenberg, and Jessica (and Jeff) Bassett and their children: Kalie Briscoe and Kyria Lindquest. Evie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard; sister, Annie; and four brothers: Clarence, Floyd, Leonard, and Lester.

Blessed Be Her Memory
