Ervin Arthur Dahlke

Ervin Arthur Dahlke, age 85, of Renville, died Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at Centracare Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar after a courageous battle with cancer.  Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 6, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Renville.  The Rev. Trevor Bailey will officiate.  Burial will be in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Clara City.  Visitation for Erv will be Sunday from 4-6 p.m. and will continue on Monday one hour prior to the services at the church in Renville.  Arrangements are with Dirks-Blem Funeral Service, Renville.

Ervin Arthur Dahlke was born on December 30, 1937, on the family farm north of Raymond, Minnesota to Edward Ludwig and Regina Emilie (Buchholz) Dahlke.  He grew up on the family farm and graduated from Raymond High School in 1956.  He was united in marriage to Eunice Hayunga on August 1, 1959, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Clara City.  He worked for a short time as a mechanic in Minneapolis and Fairfax prior to moving to Renville.  Erv and Eunice made their home in Renville and Erv worked as a mechanic for Wahl Implement.  Over the years he went on many service calls during the planting and harvest seasons.  After Wahl Implement closed, he managed the NAPA Store in Renville until his retirement.  He was an active member of First Lutheran Church in Renville.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing, woodworking, and loved attending his grandchildren’ events.  He was a quiet and gentle man and will be dearly missed by his family.

He is survived by his wife Eunice, his two daughters: Pam (and Jim) Peterson of Renville, and Lori Haines of Bemidji; his grandchildren: Richard (and Kim Davis) Smith, Brian Smith, Miranda (and Kevin) Prahl, Emilie (and Kaleb) Groce, and Ethan (and Kelsey) Haines; his five great grandchildren; his sister-in-law, Marion Hayunga, his faithful companion Buddy, and other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his son-in-law Michael, and 1 sister and 2 brothers.
