Douglas Hildebrandt, age 67 of Redwood Falls, passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2022.  Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls.  Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 p.m. Monday, June 6 at Redwood Valley Funeral Home.  Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at church on Tuesday.  Interment will be in the Redwood Falls Cemetery.  Online condolences may be sent at www.stephensfuneralservice.com. Stephens Funeral Service – Redwood Valley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Douglas Allan Hildebrandt was born on September 24th, 1954 in Olivia, Minnesota to Mary Lou and Rodney Hildebrandt.  Doug attended school in North Redwood and Redwood Falls, and graduated from Redwood Falls High School in 1972.  After high school, Doug attended Willmar Technical School for welding.  He was united in marriage to Paulette Thompson on October 25th, 1975 at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls.  The couple resided in Redwood Falls, where they raised their three children Jeffrey, Stephanie and Kristin.  Doug started his career with Farmers Union, and devoted 40 years, retiring as Project Manager in 2017.  He is a retired member of the Redwood Falls Fire Department, and a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church.  Doug enjoyed retirement by attending his grandchildren’s activities including baseball, basketball, hockey and football games.  He always looked forward to his annual hunting trips to South Dakota, fishing trips to Canada and motorcycle rides with family and friends.  Doug and Paulette took many memorable road trips.  You could always find Doug in his garage working on one of his many hobbies, shining his motorcycle or perfecting his smoked meat recipes.  He was very kind, generous and humble.

Doug is survived by his wife, Paulette of almost 47 years; daughters: Stephanie (Jason) Darnell of Sibley, IA and Kristin (Jeremy) Bakeberg of Redwood Falls; daughter-in-law Lisa (Bob) Loftus of Redwood Falls; grandchildren: Jacob Hildebrandt, Madsen & Reed Bakeberg, Addi Loftus, Tyra & Tayten Darnell (children of Jason Darnell) and Paige & Caitlyn Loftus (children of Bob Loftus); siblings: Butch Hildebrandt, Jim (Barb) Hildebrandt, Dan (Deb) Hildebrandt, Mary (Gene) Luckhardt all of Redwood Falls, Deb (Greg) Price of Wabasso, and Dawn (Rick) Jansen of Renville; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Mary Lou and Rodney Hildebrandt, son Jeffrey Hildebrandt, and niece Samantha Price.
