Dorothy Willhite, age 95, of Litchfield died Thursday, December 10, 2020 at the Meeker Manor in Litchfield. Private family services will be held at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Olivia with Rev. Joe Steinbeisser as celebrant.  Burial is in St. Aloysius Cemetery.  Arrangements by Dirks-Blem Funeral Service, Olivia, MN.

Dorothy Marie Willhite was born August 11, 1925 at Redwood Falls, Minnesota to Joseph and Lillian (Dworshak) Herdina.  She grew up in Olivia and graduated from Olivia High School in 1943.  Dorothy married Hugo Willhite on December 15, 1945 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Olivia.  She was a dedicated mother and homemaker raising eleven children.  Dorothy enjoyed reading, playing Bingo and doing puzzles.  She loved music and was able to play the ukulele, harmonica in her younger years and strum on the guitar.  In her younger years she enjoyed going to dances with Hugo.

Dorothy is survived by her eight children: Dwayne (and Pat) Willhite of Florida, Miles (and Darlene) Willhite of Maple Grove, Joyce Carpenter of Milford, IA, Bryant Willhite of North Redwood, Barbara (and Dean) Scheer of North Redwood, Ronald (and special friend Mary) of Silver Lake, Kathleen (and David) Koglin of Darwin and Brenda (and Randy) Norcutt of Hutchinson; her daughter-in-law Renee Willhite of Sauk Centre and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husband Hugo Willhite; son Charles Willhite; daughter and son-in-law Marilyn (and Dan) Wellnitz; son Michael Willhite; son-in-law Gene Carpenter; brother Roger Herdina and great-grandchild Finnley Thomes.
