Dorothy Scholl, age 94, of Hector, formerly of Olivia, died Sunday, November 15, 2020, at the Prairie View Assisted Living in Hector.  Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, November 19th at 1:00 p.m. at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Olivia with Rev. Joe Steinbeisser as celebrant.   Visitation will be one hour prior to the Mass.  Burial will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Bird Island.   In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to St. Aloysius Catholic Church or Renville County Hospice.  Arrangements are with Dirks-Blem Funeral Service, Olivia, MN.

Dorothy Elizabeth Scholl was born on April 16, 1926, in Bird Island, MN, to Fred and Mary (Brey) Bleck.  Dorothy was baptized and confirmed at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bird Island. She graduated from St. Mary’s High School. After her schooling Dorothy worked as a bookkeeper at the Bird Island Creamery. She was united in marriage to Virgil Scholl on June 26, 1947, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bird Island.  They made their home on a farm in Kingman Township north of Olivia.  They lived there until 1960, when they moved to their farm in Melville Township.  When Virgil retired in 1988 they then moved into Olivia.  Dorothy was a faithful member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church and the CCW.  Dorothy enjoyed playing cards, sewing and needlework, going for walks, and spending winters in Arizona.

Dorothy is survived by her two daughters:  Joyce (and Tom) Partyka of Hugo, MN, and Joanne Melton of St. Peter, MN; her grandson Matt Melton of St. Paul; her sister Ruth Trochlil; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Virgil; and her son-in-law David Melton.
