Dorothy Clouse

Dorothy Clouse, age 81, of Olivia died Sunday, September 22, 2024 at Grand Meadows Senior Living in Glencoe. Mass of Christian Burial is Tuesday, October 1, at 11 a.m. at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Olivia with Rev. George Schmit as celebrant. Burial is in the church cemetery. Visitation is Monday, September 30 from 5 to 7 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at Dirks-Blem Funeral Home in Olivia, and will continue one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church. Memorials are preferred to St. Aloysius Building Fund.

Dorothy Diane Clouse was born on April 17, 1943 to Albert and Minnie (Hulke) Kurtz on the family farm in Crooks Township, Renville County. She graduated from High school in Danube. She worked for Tom Simmons and Charlie Hunt for 45 years as a secretary and in later years was a clerk at Cenex in Olivia. On May 9, 1970 Dorothy was united in marriage to Lawrence Clouse at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Olivia. She was a dedicated caregiver to her daughter, Nancy. Dorothy enjoyed frequent trips to the casino and going bowling. Her beloved dog, Peggy Sue, kept her company throughout the years. She was a loving mother and grandmother.

Dorothy is survived by her son Jason and his wife Vicki Clouse of Silver Lake; her two grandchildren: Logan and Analisa Clouse; her sister, Shirley (and Jim) Sorenson of Morgan; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law Dick and Doris Clouse of Olivia and many nieces and nephews. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Lawrence Clouse; and daughter Nancy Clouse.
