Doris Marlene Holm, age 88, of Renville, died Sunday, October 30, 2022, at the RenVilla Nursing Home.  A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 4, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Renville.  The Rev. Trevor Bailey will officiate.  Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Renville.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.  Arrangements are with Dirks-Blem Funeral Service, Renville, MN.

Doris Marlene Holm was born on March 23, 1934, in Parkers Prairie, Minnesota to Reuben Clement and Clara Ingeborg (Nelson) Holm.  She grew up on a farm outside of Parkers Prairie and graduated from Parkers Prairie High School in 1951.  Following high school, Doris worked at the creamery in Parkers Prairie for about a year.  She then continued her education at Moorhead State Teachers College.  While attending classes at Moorhead State she met her future husband Don.  Doris and Don where united in marriage on August 18, 1956, at First Lutheran Church in Parkers Prairie.  They then moved to Ortonville and Doris taught kindergarten there until 1970, when they moved to Renville.  Doris taught school as part of the RCW School District until her retirement in 1997.  She was an active member of First Lutheran Church, directing the bell choir and singing in the church choir.  She was also a member of the Renville Lions Club and the local Bridge Club.  She loved gardening, taking care of the garden center, playing golf, and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her son and daughter:  Paul (and Brenda) of Renville, Sarah (and Dan) Smith of Hutchinson; her grandchildren:  Cameron (and Sarah) Holm, Travis (and Aleisha) Holm, and Lance (and Sorcha) Holm, and Erika and Eliza Smith; her great grandchildren: Sophia, Melanie, Kellen, Odette, and Kieran; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Don, and her siblings: Louise Boyum, Gladys Suppes, Peter Holm, and John Holm.
