Dolores Matilda Berg, age 83, of Sanborn, MN died on August 25, 2021, at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, MN.

Visitation will be on Thursday, September 2, 2021 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield and will continue on Friday from 9:30 am until 10:30 am at the St. Raphael Catholic Church in Springfield, MN.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the St. Raphael Catholic Church on Friday at 10:30 am.

For the safety of the family and all in attendance, masks are strongly recommended for both visitation and services.

The clergy will be Father Garrett Ahlers. Interment will be at the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Clements, MN.

Dolores Matilda Berg was born May 13, 1938 to John and Matilda (Schaust) Florek in Delano, MN. She graduated from St. Michael High School and continued her education, obtaining her LPN at the University of Minnesota. On October 4, 1958, Dolores was united in marriage to Frederick Berg at St. Michael Catholic Church in St. Michael, MN. During her nursing career, Dolores worked at the Redwood Falls Hospital from 1959-1965, Wabasso Nursing Home from 1965-1966, and REM in Redwood Falls from 1972 until her retirement in 1987. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Clements and Lamberton, where she served on the CCW and many other church committees. She served many years with Catholic Aid, serving as the local president for 40 years and on committees within the organization. She volunteered more than 25 years on the Prom Fest committee for Sanborn and Lamberton High Schools. Dolores enjoyed genealogy, traveling, sewing, crocheting, cooking, and baking – especially apple pies in the fall. She compiled a family cookbook and a family history book, enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, and spending time with family and friends.

Dolores is survived by her husband Frederick; children – Monica (Conan) Stanton of Minnetonka, Joe (Tracy) Berg of Tyler, TX, John (Melanie) Berg of Edina, Mike (Deb) Berg of Albuquerque, NM, Marty (Jenny) Berg of Clements; daughter-in-law Joan Berg of Easton, PA ; 13 grandchildren – Aaron & Isaac Stanton, Sara Berg & Mariah Keller, Noah, Jonah & Luke Berg, James, Danielle & Thomas Berg, Jordan Berg, Brady & Bradley Berg; siblings – Elizabeth (Orlo) Thompson of Barrett, MN, Mary Anna (David) Kehn of Coon Rapids, Rose Mary ( Peter) Borgwardt of Portland, OR, Dorothy Jean (James) Schillewaert of Monticello. Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, son James, brother George, sister-in-law Jeanne, nephew Rick Guetter, and great nephew Taylor Baune.
