Delores T. Guldan, age 90, of Sleepy Eye, MN died on November 9, 2019, at Divine Providence Community Home in Sleepy Eye.

Visitation will be on Thursday from 4 to 7 pm and will continue on Friday from 7:30 until 10 am at the Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye.

Funeral Service will be held at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Sleepy Eye, on Friday, November 15, 2019 at 10:30 am.

The clergy will be Msgr. John Richter.

Interment will be at the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Sleepy Eye.

Reception will follow in the church social room.

Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye.

Delores was born on June 13, 1929, in Stark Township, to Joe and Dora (Utz) Suess. She attended Country School in Stark Township and Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s. Delores married Dennis Guldan on June 18, 1947 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye. They farmed on the family farm in Stark Township 8 miles southeast of Sleepy Eye until moving to Sleepy Eye in August, 1987. Delores was a devoted wife and mother, a faithful member of St Mary’s Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye, a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Aid Association, Christian Mother’s and Home Extension Group. In her middle years she was a seasonal worker at Del Monte in Sleepy Eye and later worked at Divine Providence Nursing Home in the kitchen. She volunteered her time to wash the church linens at St. Mary’s Church for many years. She also belonged to card clubs and bible study groups. Delores loved and took pride in her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her family was her life. She enjoyed going to many football, baseball, basketball games, school plays and band concerts. She was an active leader in the Stark Happy Hustler’s 4-H Club with her children. She also enjoyed working with the TEC (Teens Encounter Christ) week-ends. Delores moved to Divine Providence Nursing Home in December, 2012. She will be sadly missed by her family.
Delores is survived by her children, Judy (Terry) Anderson, Mike (Annie) Guldan, Steve (Anamartha) Guldan, Denny (Dani) Guldan, Tom (Bonnie) Guldan, Jon (Julie) Guldan, Emdiano (Gale) Chagil, son-in-law, Shelley Schwab and daughter-in-law Brenda Guldan, 28 grandchildren and 49 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Dennis, daughter Jean Schwab, son Deacon Jim Guldan, daughter-in law Janice Guldan, son-in-law Erik Phillips, son-in-law Keith Roberts, 5 infant children.
