The funeral service for Delbert Macklenburg, 84, of New Ulm, formerly of Belview, will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 29, 2021, at Peace Lutheran Church in Echo, MN.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the church.  Interment will follow the service at the Echo Cemetery.

Delbert Charles Macklenburg was born on May 30, 1937, in Echo Township to Albert and Erma (Bendix) Macklenburg.  He attended District 103 Country School and graduated from Echo High School in 1955.  On September 8, 1973, he was united in marriage to Janice Storch.  Delbert was a lifelong farmer and the couple made their home in Vesta Township.  In 2007, he moved to the Parkview Assisted Living in Belview and in 2015, he moved to the Prairie Senior Cottages in New Ulm.  Delbert enjoyed camping and spending time in their fifth wheel camper.  He was an avid collector of antique John Deer tractors and other machinery.

Delbert died on Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at the Prairie Senior Cottages in New Ulm, MN.  He is survived by his brother David (and Darlene) Macklenburg, in-laws Richard (and Bethel) Storch and Phil (and Carol) Felleson, nieces and nephews Rhonda (and Eric) Madsen, Steph (and Paul) Bengtson, Josh (and Amanda) Felleson. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Janice and brother Daniel.
