Dean Revier

Dean Revier, age 54, of Olivia passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Private family services will be held. Visitation will be on Sunday, October 4, 2020 from 3-6 p.m. at Dirks-Blem Funeral Home in Olivia. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.

Dean Allen Revier was born on September 18, 1966 in Olivia to Ronald and Marie (Houdek) Revier. He grew up in Olivia and graduated from Olivia High School in 1985.  Dean was a member of the United States Army National Guard. Throughout his life he had various jobs including managing the bowling alley for many years, general carpentry, and worked in fabrication and other positions at Hanson Silo. Dean enjoyed playing cards with family and friends, helping others, and praising God. He loved being outdoors doing yard work, gardening, and landscaping. Dean will be remembered for always showing love and compassion towards everyone he met. He has inspired us all to love and show compassion to others. Dean was always known to say “I love you” to everyone and spontaneously text his family with inspiring, encouraging, and loving words. He was well known for being so gifted with children and making everyone laugh. He was truly the most selfless, compassionate, caring, hardworking, and lovable man. Dean was well known for his strong faith, positive attitude, and helping out anyone who needed help. He was always dedicated to making a difference wherever he went, and going above and beyond to get any job done right the first time. He is remembered for the bountiful and beautiful garden he always had. He was blessed to share his produce with his neighbors, family, and friends. Dean will always be remembered for all his great services. He was passionate about maintaining the yard of his neighbors, landscaping, and recently remodeling his home for his family. His strong faith encouraged him to prepare his home for the future of his family. He truly loved unconditionally and was dedicated to serving the Lord with all his services.

Dean is survived by his parents, Ronald and Marie Revier; the mother of his children, Janie Revier; his children: Jared (fiancée Jessica Ridl) Slagter, Jenna (and Nick) Bach, Derek (and Stephanie) Revier, and Dallan Revier; his grandchildren, Collin Slagter, Owen & Addison Schwanke and Bowie Rey Revier; his brothers: Randy (and Denise) Revier, Robert (and Charlotte) Revier, Danny (and Shareen) Revier, Paul Revier (and Shantelle George), and Patrick (and Sara) Revier; and many nieces, nephews, and numerous loved ones; Jan Rauenhorst was always a very influential part of Dean’s life, she truly loved and treated him like her own son. Dean was preceded in death by his grandparents, Roger & Ella Revier, Stanley & Irene Houdek, and Mary Ann Moudry.
