Darlo Eugene Harnack age 80, of Lamberton, MN died on October 15, 2020, at Avera McKennan in Sioux Falls, SD.

Visitation will be on Thursday, October 22, 2020 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Lamberton, MN and will continue on Friday from 9:30 am until 10:30 am at the church. Due to Covid 19, this visitation will be a “walk through” visitation and will be limited to the number of people inside the building at any one time. There will be no congregating or gathering inside the building. Masks are required and social distancing will be observed.

Service will be held at the Our Savior’s Lutheran Church on Friday, October 23, 2020 at 10:30 am.

The clergy will be Todd Mathison. A private inurnment will be at the Lamberton Cemetery.

It was October 14, 2020. The weather was crisp, the corn was dry, the combines were rolling; and God called Darlo Eugene Harnack home.

Darlo was born on December 18, 1939 in North Hero Township to Roy and Ruth (Delong) Harnack. He was a lifelong member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Lamberton. He attended Walnut Grove Highschool and graduated in 1959. Darlo was Married to Judie (Nelson) October 4, 1959 and soon added two boys, Jeff and Brian to the family.

Darlo spent his life doing the only thing he ever wanted to do, farming, planting his last crop this spring. When Darlo had spare time, he enjoyed playing cards with the guys, driving through implement lots, and mowing. Darlo also was able to enjoy many fishing trips to Pierre and Canada. Grandpa Darlo was his favorite title, he loved telling stories, joking, and being an active part of his grandkids and great grandkids lives. He will be so deeply missed.

Darlo is survived by his wife of 62 years, Judie, his son Jeff, and daughter in law Kim (Matt)Grunewald. Grandchildren, Chelsi (Clint) Engen, Jared (Nicole) Harnack, Sammie (Cody) Harnack, and Marissa (Taylor) Leuthold. Great grandchildren, Delanie, Oakleigh, Baylee, Tate, Liila, Sparrow, Colt and Berkley. As well as special others, Jenna, Jake, Morgan and Eleanore. He is also survived by his siblings, Janet (Ardell) Anderson, Donna Frank, Bill (Lucy) Harnack, Eilene (Don) Stanek, and Leroy (Nancy) Harnack. He is preceded in death by his son, Brian, his parents, Roy & Ruth, and his brother, Durmont.
