Funeral services for Darlene Milbradt, 90, of Belview will be held on Sunday, June 27, 2021, at 2:30 p.m. at Rock Dell Lutheran Church in Belview. Visitation will take place on Saturday, June 26, 2021, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m., with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m., at Sunset Funeral Home in Echo. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow the service at the Rock Dell Cemetery.

Darlene Cleopha Wilma (Werner) Milbradt was born on August 17, 1930, in Vesta, to Harry and Wilma Meta (Viergutz) Werner. Darlene grew up on farms near Vesta and attended school in Echo. After graduating from Echo High School, she worked at the Redwood Gazette for a time. On March 12, 1950, Darlene was united in marriage to James “Jim” Milbradt at Peach Lutheran Church in Echo. The couple made their home on a farm west of Echo, before moving to another farm north of Belview in 1966. After Jim’s death in 1994, Darlene bought a home in Echo. Darlene moved to the Parkwood apartments in Belview in 2012, and entered Parkview Senior Living in 2019.

Darlene was a member of Rock Dell Lutheran Church since 1966. She was very involved in the church as a member of the ladies aid and Bethany auxiliary. Darlene also played organ and piano for church for many years, and she taught piano in her younger years. She enjoyed crocheting and was a skilled gardener, and everyone knew Darlene for her flowers. Darlene enjoyed her duties on the farm, including taking care of her grandchildren while their parents worked. Darlene and Jim enjoyed traveling, especially their trips to Hawaii and Portugal. Darlene also enjoyed her two trips to Japan with family.

Darlene died peacefully on Thursday, June 17, 2021, at Parkview Senior Living in Belview. She is survived by her children David (significant other Alicia Reynaga) Milbradt of Echo, Ruth (Brad) Wallingford of Gold Beach, OR, Mary McDonnell of Vancouver, WA, and Paul (Kim) Milbradt of Belview; 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jim, son Dan, brothers Virgil and Bob Werner, and sister Bernell Joel.
